Our Mission
A decade of design and a contractor’s license on one team. Home renovations should be exciting, not exhausting. Hiring contractors, sourcing materials, managing timelines, and staying on budget can quickly become overwhelming. Kaelyn Schmidt Design (KSD) was founded in 2018 by Kaelyn Schmidt with one goal: to help clients define their style and bring it to life without the stress. Her approach is collaborative and straightforward. Whether a client has a clear vision or doesn’t know where to start, she guides the process, simplifies each step, and makes the experience manageable and enjoyable.
Kaelyn's Background
Kaelyn earned her Interior Design degree from the University of Florida, a highly regarded program in the field. After graduation, she gained experience across multiple areas, including furniture selection, theme park display fabrication (with installations across the United States and in Shanghai, China), and residential new construction, where she worked with a custom builder designing homes from the ground up.

What We Do
Kaelyn Schmidt Design is a full-service studio for home development and renovation in North Central Florida. Services include kitchen and bathroom renovations, new construction selections for local builders, floor plans and 3D renderings, tile layouts, decorating, furniture placement, and full project management from permits through completion.
The studio serves Gainesville, Archer, Williston, Alachua, High Springs, Ocala, and surrounding communities in Northern Florida.
Through established industry relationships, Kaelyn Schmidt Design provides clients with access to premium furniture brands, including Uttermost, Bassett Furniture, Four Hands, Caracole, Hickory Chair, Stickley, Global Views, Hooker Furniture, and more.

Kaelyn is an interior design graduate from the University of Florida. She has worked in the industry for over 10 years, collaborating with multiple designers, architects, and artists in all facets of design.
After college, she continued her search for the right design trade by helping clients with furniture selections at a local furniture store. She then worked with some of the most talented artists to create multiple theme park displays that can be seen throughout the United States and in Shanghai, China. She found her true calling with a local builder, helping clients create their dream homes.

I strive to enhance and simplify the entire process, ultimately helping clients save time and money and avoid costly mistakes. I believe that working with a designer should be a fun and collaborative process. The goal is to guide clients to their style. Whether you lean towards contemporary or traditional design or you’re not quite sure what your style is, together we will achieve the look you want.”
Kaelyn is also a licensed Residential Contractor, allowing her to not only help with the design of your space, but she can also manage your renovation or remodeling project while staying in budget and ensuring a timely completion.

Sarah graduated from Cornell University with a degree in interior design. After school, she worked at a furniture store, helping customers select custom pieces for their homes. As a drafter, her next position allowed her to continue working one-on-one with customers as they designed their new homes, additions, and renovations.

Susannah graduated in 2025 from Valdosta State University in Valdosta, GA, with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Interior Design and a Minor in Art. Her passion for interior design stems from her love of art and the beauty found in thoughtfully curated spaces. After interning with Kaelyn and the Kaelyn Schmidt Design team in the summer of 2024, Susannah joined full-time, eager to continue learning and contributing to the creative process of residential remodeling.

Prior to joining Kaelyn Schmidt Design in 2023, Suzanne accumulated 10 years of customer service experience before acquiring her associate’s degree in accounting and transitioning to an administrative role. With 5 years of dedicated administration experience in the construction industry, Suzanne exemplifies a profound commitment to the fields of interior design and home renovations, and loves to make the project experience as seamless as possible.
